I will be participating in a number of different events in the coming months around the region. If you are attending, do reach out and let’s connect.
1. WPP Stream Asia
March 10-12 Phuket, Thailand
More info
From the site: Stream Asia will be an open-source, super-democratic “unconference” that is guaranteed to involve, inspire and empower those who have been selected to attend. Stream is for people with wide-open minds, boundless curiosity and an unhesitating willingness to participate. For those wanting to develop their business and understanding of the distinctive Asian market, Stream Asia will be a valuable learning opportunity.
Stream Asia will bring together around 200 of the brightest and most innovative people in the creative, media and technology industries from Asia and around the world.
WIRED Editor David Rowan recently described Stream 2010 as WPP’s “excellent ‘unconference’”, listing it alongside SXSW and TED as one of the “ultimate meetings of the minds” (GQ Magazine, March 2011).
2. Dachis Social Business Summit
April 6 Singapore
More info
From the company that created the term ‘social business’ (see our take on the concept here), this event is a ‘meeting of the minds’ from different disciplines to explore how to map social media intelligence to business (not to just communications). I’m particularly excited about seeing Jeff Dachis and to meet Dion Hinchcliffe, who has been writing about/doing social business for years before the terms social business and social media existed.
3. HSBC China Consumption Conference
April 27-29 Hong Kong
More info
From the site: China’s growth dynamics are well-known, but rising competition and changes in Chinese consumer’s spending habits makes selecting the right management team vital.
At this conference, HSBC offers a unique opportunity to meet with senior executives of companies leveraged to the Chinese consumer. The format will be 1-on-1 and small group meetings, as well as a trade show.
4. Asian Marketing Effectiveness Awards
May 12-13th Shanghai
More info
I will be talking about social media and…not surprisingly…communication effectiveness.
From the site: During the two-day festival, delegates will have opportunities to learn and be inspired by the greatest minds in the field, see showcases of the best in marketing effectiveness, and honour the winning work at the AME Awards ceremony. This year’s theme of ‘unpacking effectiveness’ will set about to examine what effectiveness means in the modern day marketing environment.
