[1]Chinese Traffic Police Adopt Green Pepper Avatar

The traffic police of Shanghai’s Qing Pu district have taken a lighthearted, personable approach to their social media engagement. In Chinese, traffic police is pronounced Jiao Jing. So, they combined Qing from Qing Pu and Jiao from Jiao Jing to get Qing Jiao, which means green pepper. There you have it, the new face of Qing Pu law enforcement – drawn on a pepper.

[2]A Conversation Between Competing Brands

Fiat’s much celebrated, compact and classic 500 is often stacked up against BMW’s much celebrated, compact and classic Mini Cooper. However, that certainly didn’t stop them from flirting shamelessly with each other via Sina Weibo. It all started on Mini Cooper’s official Sina Weibo account (@MINI中国), with mentions of the two iconic brands’ co-starring film roles, then reciprocated by Fiat’s official Weibo account (@广汽菲亚特). This is the first open, friendly conversation between brands we’ve seen on Sina Weibo thus far.

[3]HuGe’s Latest Viral Video

HuGe @胡戈, the Chinese short film director, has once again created a successful viral video. This time it is for JiaHua, a local hygiene brand. The video incorporates some of China’s most viral internet content into one highly entertaining and hugely shareable package.

[4]Gogo.cn to Jike.cn

Gogo.cn, or “People’s Search”, the state owned search engine formed in partnership with the People’s Daily newspaper a little over a year ago, has just changed it’s name to Jike.com, which means “immediate search”.
